WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE?
Specialty Cases has designed a line of cases specifically for computer equipment. These cases are designed for the fragility of CPUs, printers, scanners, plotters, laptops, and the unusual shapes of monitors. Practical experience has proven that interior case foam is the most important factor in assuring that equipment arrives in working order. The case shell protects the insides but the key is that the foam cushion protects the equipment.
Every computer shipping case we design takes into consideration three factors.
- Proper fit – all equipment must fit properly in the foam to prevent internal breakage. CPUs are held firmly in place, preventing movement inside the case. Monitors have special blocking around the pedestal base. This foam blocking prevents the base from breaking or causing hidden damage inside the monitor itself.
- Correct type of foam – Specialty Cases uses a combination of stiff and soft foam to protect against both shock and vibration. Most suppliers use only one type of foam.
- Sufficient amount of foam – a minimum of 2 in. of foam cushions each component. All foam cushions are designed to meet or exceed industry standards for drop tests and vibration tests.
